Data Explorer

Load a dataset and freely explore its variables. Select one or two variables from the sidebar, choose a chart type, and see the result. The goal is to practice choosing appropriate visualizations for different variable types.

How to use

  1. Load a dataset from the dropdown, or paste your own data.
  2. Click a variable in the sidebar to select it. Click a second variable to compare two variables. Click again to deselect.
  3. Choose a chart type from the radio buttons. All types are always available — some will work better than others depending on your variable selection.
  4. Interpret the chart and summary statistics. Then try a different combination.
